I'm Thiago Pradi. I live in Brazil.
I build software for startups and scale.
I've been fascinated by computers since I was a kid. At 12, I got my first computer and started exploring Linux and Python, writing small programs that could do things I thought were amazing.
I pursued a computer science degree, where I developed a deep understanding of how computers work. That's also when I discovered Ruby and Rails, a framework that changed how I thought about building web applications, prioritizing developer happiness and productivity.
Over the following years, I worked at several startups, helping them grow from early-stage products to scaled platforms. Along the way, I moved into leadership, first as an Engineering Manager, then as Head of Engineering, learning that building great teams is just as important as building great software.
I earned a Master's degree building an application to teach children with autism about facial expressions. I've also maintained open source projects, including Octopus, one of the most widely used database sharding implementations for ActiveRecord.
